Library Renovation

As you might know, the Arroyo Grande Library is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation. The purpose of this renovation is, in part, to update the Library and bring it into compliance with current fire suppression and ADA rules. (For more info, read our July 2025 newsletter available elsewhere on this website.)

During the construction period, FOTAGL will be unable to hold our bi-monthly book sales, nor will we be accepting donations of books and AV items.  You may, however, continue to make monetary donations. Click on the “Donate” link at the top of this page for instructions.

Also, you can continue to support us by buying books on-line from our Amazon Store. Click on the “Shop” link at the top of the page for more info.

During the closure, if you have any gently used books you would like to donate, please consider donating to another local charity or non-profit.

We fully intend to resume accepting donations and hosting book sales when the Library reopens at the completion of the renovation. Furthermore, all FOTAGL annual members have been given a free one-year extension on their membership.

Visit our temporary location for your holds pickups and returns.

During this closure, you can place holds for items online at catalog.slolibrary.org or through the “SLO County Public Libraries” app.  A notification will be sent to you when items are ready for pick-up.  For assistance call the library @ 805-473-7167 during our normal business hours (see below).

Bookdrops and returns

One blue bookdrop will be available in front of the temporary location at the South County Regional Center during the renovation. The drive-thru bookdrop will not be available. Returns are accepted at the temporary location or at any of our other 13 locations.

There are no computers, printing services, or public restrooms available at the Temporary location.
